Meltdown & Spectre Exploits
What Are They?
Meltdown & Spectre are recently identified CPU exploits that impact the vast majority of PC's and laptops regardless of the operating system you are using (Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, Linux, Chromebook are all effected). An attacker can exploit these CPU vulnerabilities to access sensitive data including passwords, emails, photos or anything other data on your PC.
Check To See If Your Vulnerable.
This is the easy bit! Gibson Research recently released the InSpectre tool, which is a simple to use one-click tool that checks to see if your computer is vulnerable to Meltdown or Spectre. if you wish to check whether your computer is vulnerable please make sure you download and run the InSpectre tool from here.
How To Protect Yourself.
So you've used the InSpectre tool and have found your PC\laptop to be vulnerable to either Meldown, Spectre or maybe even both. If this is the case we'd advise taking the following steps.
Update your operating system. - All of the major operating system makers have rolled out updates that help protect against these flaws, ensure that your computer is fully up to date.
Check for firmware updates. - Head to your computer manufacturers support section of their website and check for any firmware updates for your particular computer model.
Update your web browser. - All the major web browser have released updates to combat the Spectre exploit, double check that your browser is up to date.
Keep your anti virus active. - This is an obvious one, but double check your Anti Virus anyway.

Supercharging Your Computer With A SSD
Over the past year replacing PC\laptop hard drives with a solid state drives has become one of our most popular services, simply because the results are incredible. It's no coincidence that most mid-high range laptops now ship with SSDs fitted as standard and a time will come where the SSD will replace the hard drive altogether.. Replacing your hard drive with a solid state drive will dramatically increase the speed of your PC\laptop even if it's an older model, it will simply feel like you have a new computer. We recently replaced a hard drive with a SSD on one of our laptops. We ran a series of comparative tests and were simply amazed at the results which you can see below.
Prices for our SSD replacement program start at £90, should you wish to discuss this further or book in your computer please email us at email@example.com.
